Notes:

Throughout this document you will see references to the Windows95 CD. If you originally installed Windows 95 from diskettes, please insert the first disk in the set into your floppy disk drive now. You will need to use your Windows 95 diskettes whenever prompted for the Windows 95 CD.

If you originally installed Windows 95 from CD, please insert that CD into your CD-ROM drive before beginning the installation.

If you purchased a computer with Windows 95 pre-loaded, it may not be necessary to use a CD or diskettes during the installation. For more information contact your computer retailer. The instructions in this document are intended to assist in the configuration of a single isolated computer, at a single site, that will connect using a modem (14.4 BPS, 28.8 BPS, 56k) and a 'Plain Old Telephone Service' (POTS) analog telephone line. We also assume that Windows 95 and the modem have already been successfully installed.

Some of the instructions in this document refer to the following Microsoft products: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Internet Mail, and Microsoft Internet News. Microsoft distributes these products free of charge. Other software products may offer the same functionality as these products, and much of the configuration information may be similar. If you are using an alternative software product (ie: Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Eudora, etc.) please contact your product vendor for assistance in configuring your software.

If your computer has previously been configured for use with a dial-up network provider (ie: an Internet Service Provider, or proprietary systems such as America Online, CompuServe, Prodigy, etc.) or if software for any such provider has been installed on your system, you may need to remove the software in to enable your computer to successfully complete a connection to our network.
