Welcome to the MilNet Anti Spam Page

Update 5 May 2005.

We have now installed our new mailserver, and it is running well. Many of our users have migrated themselves, and are successfully illiminating their spam. Each mailbox has its own control panel, and by using its various controls, it is possibile to illiminate just about all spam. If only the default setting are used, significant amounts of Spam are rejected.

We will shortly be migrating the remainer of our users. We hope to do this over the next week or so. If you have not yet migrated, dont worrk, you need do nothing. If you are using a program like Outlook, it will continue to function as normal, if you use the web mail interface (IMAP4), the layout of the page is stightly different, but the functions are similar.

We are aware than many of our mail server users no longer use the MilNet 0845 dialup number to access their mailboxes. As you will be aware, our income is derived by a small percentage of what our users pay for these calls. We have decided, therefore, that where people are connecting to the internet using our 0845 number they will continue to be able to use their mailboxes for 'free'. We will be asking others, however, to pay a small monthly charge for continued use of the server. We hope you understand that we cannot addord to provide email facilities for free!

There is more information about the new mail server on its own web pages at http://tmail.milnet.uk.net/
